While we want to have our regular services and programs as much as possible, we also recognize that hazardous travel conditions or a slippery parking lot are dangers to be avoided. A clear policy is necessary so that congregants are not left wondering whether or not services are being held that morning. The following policy may not be perfect but it is clear and unambiguous.

    In the event of severe winter weather, Beth Jacob will follow the following policy:

    On Mondays and Thursdays, if Norwich Public Schools are either cancelled or delayed, morning minyan will not be held. Please check local TV stations or websites for the status of Norwich Public Schools.

    On Friday nights and Shabbat and Sunday mornings, please check www.bethjacobnorwich.org if the weather is snowy or icy. If services and/or religious school are cancelled, the cancellation will be posted no later than 5 pm for Friday night services and by 8 a.m. on Saturday or Sunday. Only cancellations will be posted -- no cancellation notice on the website means services/religious school proceed as scheduled.
